Country: Argentina
Year: 2010
Price: $15 regular, $7 sale.
Winery review: Intense red color with violet highlights, with clean, fresh and complex aromas of berries, plums, figs and pepper. Strong personality is in perfect balance with a medium body and pleasant tannins. Ideal for: red meats, cheeses and strong sauces.

My review: Again, this is a good wine for the
price. That said, there are way better Cab Sauvs at the same $7-$10 range. The
mouthfeel was totally lacking on this wine. I don’t need a total jammy, thick,
succulent mouthfeel from every wine of this style, but this one was weak. If I
did this wine blind, I wouldn’t guessed a Pinot Noir. If you like that, it’s
good.
It
was pretty up there on tannins for a $7 bottle. I would really be good with
game like venison or perhaps even duck. I wouldn’t pair this with a steak,
though; it doesn’t have the body. Nose was all ripe red fruit and the taste was
very much plums and spice.
I tasted this on its own with no food.
