Omo Ze Bel

Name: Omo Ze Bel
Variety: Merlot
Region: Scicilia
Country: Italy
Year: Non-Vintage
Price: $6.95

Winery review: This bright, soft Merlot comes from a hilly vineyard on the Alcesti family estate in beautiful Sicily. It has hints of red cherries and freshly cut hay.  Exceptional value.

My review: Coming off the Atlas Cumbres Torrontes at the tasting, I found this wine to be a far better valued Merlot. I think this was a good valued wine and was light on tannins and had some interesting notes of hay and field grass (not like a grassy cut NZ Sauvnignon Blanc note). I enjoyed this a lot.

I tasted this on its own with no food.
