Name: Toso Moscato
Variety: Moscato
Country: Italy
Country: Italy
Year: Non-Vintage
Price: $9.95
Winery review: This Moscato is reminiscent of honeysuckle and rose petal. The quality is equivalent to a top level Asti Spumante DOCG.
Sweet sparkling wine obtained from a careful selection of the Moscato grapes. It has a pale straw yellow color with fine foam and bubbles. Tropical fruit flavors, refreshing.
Excellent to match desserts, fruit and dried pastries

My
review: First of all, I would never
buy this wine at $9.95. Not. Worth. It. At. All. It wasn’t terrible but it
should be priced with Andre and Barefoot Moscato. This wine was a total honey
bomb that almost tasted like sweet sparkling mead. This was a pleasant surprise
since I’m used to soft drink moscatos. The nose didn’t have that sickeningly
sweet note that I hate out of sweet wines. Not a bad wine but not liking the
price. I’d buy a $10 Riesling and be much happier.
I tasted this on its own with no food.
