Name: Santa Julia Malbec
Variety: Malbec
Country: Argentina
Country: Argentina
Year: 2012
Price: $8.95
Winery review: The nose is full of mellow raspberry and cherry, while the palate is fleshy and round, with blackberry and a touch of raisin. Plump, not edgy, and ready to drink, with coffee and mocha notes on the finish.

My
review: My favorite of the bunch; I’m
often into Malbec. The nose was all dark fruit and smelled pretty standard for
a Malbec. It was smooth with cherry notes on taste. I detected a little bit of
coffee as well, but it wasn’t strong so you wouldn’t be turned off if you don’t
like coffee. For $8.95 this is a good buy as far as I can tell of Malbec. I was
tempted to buy this one.
I tasted this on its own with no food.
