My review: I got this wine just for cooking purposes when I was making shrimp and artichoke alfredo for the girlfriend and I for Valentine’s day. To be honest here, it was the second cheapest Sauvignon Blanc I could find at Kroger; the only one cheaper was the Rex Goliath version. I liked this label and hadn’t tried a California Sauvignon Blanc before so I thought I’d give it a shot.
This was a surprisingly good wine. It was
citrusy and I thought the winery review calling it out as having grapefruit
notes was totally correct. The taste was citrusy up front and finished nicely
with a little acidic bite at the end. I would definitely try this wine again.
I paired this wine with a shrimp alfredo dish
made with onion and artichoke. The light seafood fare paired nicely with this
wine.
